GOOD tech support is essential for a hosting company. I can name a select few that have incredible turnaround time, I'll stick with them.

I've been with Phat Servers ever since I got shit on by Cologroup, and I've had no problems that haven't been fixed immediately. I just switched from virtual to dedicated today. Tech support edited my custom scripts (that I wrote) so they would work on the new box. I didn't even have to ask... nice, eh?

one thing is good there is always a bloke on icq but for the most part they are useless lol

when you need something corrected on a v-host for example they dont have access to those servers so they cant do anything.

ya once everything gets hooked up its great, but its just getting things hooked up thats the problems. right now none of my domains have working stats going. stats haven't updated since last week and one domain doesn't even have stats installed. they installed the stats in the root directory, i told them about it and they deleted it. but they didn't reinstall to the stats directory.

Yeah their tech support is the 2nd worst I've every dealt with. Piece of shit.

i've been with candidhosting for a couple of months. my experience so far is if you phone them (toll free), you can get immediate tech support. if the tech you talk to can't help, he'll get you in touch with the admin for your server.

also they are bringing in a new server admin, and are looking for another, which should help.

It's hard to be inexpensive and provide good tech support. But some hosts can do it. *hint*

I guess the old saying applies to some.

You get what you pay for ;)

well, i tell every person that i know looking for a hosting provider that they should first consider the availability of Tech personnel , particularly 24/7/365. only a few that I know of in the US.
