I was running around and I found a site that uses something called Gay PassPort ID, and it says it is free, that a CC is used a verification of age, and I don't see where the money is.

Is it a scam?

I am wondering if it is a scam on the users, and hence a scam on sites that use their service, that is my question? I don't see where it generates revenue for anyone.....

In what way is that condescention?

If you were anything other than totally green in this business you would at least know what a free AVS is even if you didn't use them yourself, hence the newbie link may be very useful. If nothing else people there are more likely to explain how an AVS works in detail.

The sites were all examples of established and VERY well known free AVS systems (or in some cases systems previously known as AVS). None of these blatantly rip people off although some may argue otherwise.

The suggestion to sign up to one of the systems seems by far the best way to find out how it works to me.

I don't see it as condesending, if you went to all of those sites and looked at them, you would see a common trend at how they make their money.
