How to save this Industry - part 2

Now I move on to Kazaa,
IMO there is only one way to stop people who run programs like this cold hard cash!
Here is my suggestion, there are like maybe 2000 (real) webmasters here right?
I think we should create a Paypal account or some other account and all contribute for e.g. $100 or what ever you can afford :winkwink:
(Just for all the dumb asses out there that's like $200,000)

We then offer the sum to the main player behind Kazaa to STOP the software and sign an agreement,

They refuse the following month we all put another $100 and re offer!
They refuse again erm..... We split the cash and offer it to all the major password sharing sites so they stop

Hue G. Pness 06-25-2003 06:58 AM

No but seriously we could set up some kind of joint account between a few webmasters

chodadog 06-25-2003 07:12 AM

Oh man, you're one stupid motherfucker. Do you have any idea how many users Kazaa has, and have you even begun to ponder their advertising revenue? Go back to bed. You're an idiot. On top of that, there's money to be made using Kazaa if you know what you're doing.

Wade 06-25-2003 07:16 AM

"The company has advertising revenue of about $US4 million."

Exactly. And they're gonna give up their $4 million dollars of ongoing revenue for a one of payment of 200 grand from a bunch of disgruntled smut peddlers. Atm Machine, seriously, if you have an idea, keep it to yourself in future. You're an idiot.

Jimmer 06-25-2003 07:23 AM

What is needed is someone to crack the kaza protocol so we can flood them with bad files.

People are already flooding Kazaa with useless files. The music industry is flooding most of the p2p networks with dodgy mp3's. Pornography webmasters are flooding kazaa with teaser movie files. Seriously, you're stupid man. Give it up. You're not going to save the day.

chowda 06-25-2003 07:31 AM

i hate it when they put out mp3 files i cant burn, they waste my cds!

Jimmer 06-25-2003 07:35 AM

If you have been studying marketting on peer to peer, it is easier to market on sites that use an open protocol because you can run the peer to peer program on your server. Kazza uses a proprietary protocal.

Rochard 06-25-2003 07:39 AM

Ever heard of DRM?

KRL 06-25-2003 07:44 AM

Easier said then done. Don't even think about it.

chowda 06-25-2003 07:48 AM

the RIAA cant stop them, what makes u think u can u dirty sanchez

Jimmer 06-25-2003 07:57 AM

My programmer said it could be done if someone took the time. The problem is that they would change it again. It has been changed since the original version.

Probably the proactive approach is the best as suggested above

kazaa makes life easier for mp3 lovers out there, as long as the software is legally used, then who can save the industry? :)

bootleggin never died, it just got alot easier.

any kind of investment products that can be easily duplicated faces bootlegging and trademark fraud

save the industry? slow down the internet. or make bad info about it.

extreme 06-25-2003 08:33 AM

spamming the fuck out of kazaa sounds like a better idea ... kazaa beats any paysite hands down as it is now.

Phoenix 06-25-2003 08:41 AM

dude, kazzaa is not going to care about whatever money you are sending them...they have very dep pockets and have been online in one form or another for years:Graucho

make money off of it while it is still there

i think somone mentioned DRM.:winkwink:

If you are a producer of Original Content on the web and you don't sell your content in formats other than on your site then DRM is a perfectly logical solution that would Guarantee that your content is never seen in Kazaa or other locations.

So for example all of that bangbus.com and collegefuckfest.com content you see in Kazaa wouldn't be there...plain and simple. You can speculate what the joins would be ...I won't.

I'll run it for 50% of all transactions.
