Well, this past Saturday, I encountered yet another reason (the latest of hundreds I've recorded over the years!) why one shouldn't come to Bourbon Street and act like an ass.

I was wondering if you might happen to have a video from about two mardi gras ago, some dude kept punching this poor dude for now reason so me and about 6 friends proceeded to beat the living shit out of him, it was pretty gruesome... but he deserved it

Yes, it started by the trash doors, next to the Tricou House, went across the street to the doorway of the big bead shop and then they carried him back around the corner. Finally locked him up in the old Top Cats stairway until the cops showed some 20 minutes later.

Did the dude look like a wrestler w/ a shaved head, bloodied a geek's nose and end up punched down in the gutter by Johnny White's Sports Bar? That was the most spectacular stupidity I taped two carnivals (don't know the plural of Mardi Gras :) ) ago. Otherwise, there were about ten other incidents and none really stand out.

I've been taping T&A in the Quarter since '94, out on Bourbon every weekend and keep the camera rolling through all kinds of shit. Unbelieveable what happens on that street! The worst fight footage I've gotten has been when two frat packs go to it during football season. I have some scenes with 40-50 guys rolling around on the street. And a coupla' of those I walk right through them while rolling tape...

that could have been it, but I dont remember what he looked like.. come to think of it, he may have been wearing a hat backwards, but I still would like to see that

Someday I might get around putting together something. Even though most of the scenes are cued (I set them aside after I edit the raw footage for the flashing bits) there's still a ton of tape I'd have to wade through to pull out the goodies.

Had a california producer interested for awhile in doing something with it but he backed off when I told him I wanted to juxtapose the fights with the flashing. He thought sex and violence was taking it to far, I figure that's the way it happens here and that's what I'd want to show.

As it is, I stay busy enough as it is keeping up with the demand for what I do produce and don't have the time to do it justice right now.

I would pay big money for a compilation of the street fights, and I'm sure alot of other people would too... growing up here, the whole flashing thing is boring to me (im sure it is to you too) but the fights is a generally new genre... you could be the next bumfights! :Graucho
