how ironic...

a christian college that frowns down upon catholics and interracial dating

irst issue: many are portraying us as people who hate Catholics. They seem to make us look like we take a perverse delight in "condemning" people. Not true.

We do, however, believe the Bible. And the Bible very clearly shows us how man can get to heaven. Man must first realize that he is a sinner and has no hope of salvation without God (Rom. 3:10-12, 23). He must then accept the free gift of salvation and be born again in Jesus Christ (John 3:3, Rom. 10:9).

Catholicism doesn't teach that. The Catholic church teaches that doing certain things earns you salvation: the sacraments, going to Mass, going to confession, etc. But Ephesians 2:8-9 states that grace saves us, not works.

We can never "earn" forgiveness for our sins; Jesus Christ paid for our sin on the cross.

Again, we believe God's Word to be true. And the Bible says that without Christ, man goes to hell. And we don't want people to go there! That's why we can't close our eyes and lips and not tell others of the good news in Christ. How cruel would that be?

Let me restate my point: we do not hate Catholics. We do have theological differences with them.

Second big issue: BJU is being called racist. This is not accurate. Yes, we do have a policy about dating between the races--for more information, visit the BJU homepage. But we are not "racist." We admit all races, treating each equally.

he thing he wants most for people to learn is that a sovereign God allows His people to serve Him in the way He chooses. As he left the hospital last week, a nurse gave him a statement by Andrew Murray that included Psalm 50:15, which was a real encouragement.

In our court case 20 years ago we fought for religious freedom, not for our policy banning interracial dating, but for our right to hold that policy. God has again brought us to national attention. Why did God allow this? What does He want the nation to know? He must want people to be made aware that our religious freedom is in jeopardy.

hmm.

Most Judeo-Christian and Islamic based ones are pretty much mutually exclusive.

Pretty hypocritical to say in sermons another religion is "wrong," then agree with them in public.

Religions should duke it out.

They can't all be right.
