OK, so I'm trying to add a 2nd hard drive to my system, but I'm having problems.
My current system has a Serial-ATA HD plugged into the Serial-ATA plug on the motherboard, IDE1 is empty and IDE2 has a DVD drive plugged into it. At first I tried plugging the new HD into IDE1, but then when I booted up it would only recognize the new HD and not the original that is plugged into the Serial-ATA plug. Now I've decided to plug it into IDE2 along with the DVD drive, and now my system recognizes both hard drives, but now it doesn't recognize the DVD drive. Whats up? |

How can I set one as master or slave if it doesn't recognize them all?

No there on the drive themself, you have to set one up as the master and the other as the slave, this is done by changing the position of a pin in the back.
Refer to the drive documentation for the propper settings, or its usualy printed right on the drive, look next to the cable plug |
oh yeah! I forgot to set the jumpers!
