Digi cam / video editing / recording set up?
post yours and the price you spent :)
|
Get a 3 CCD semi pro video camera or better. The choice is really a personal one. Read the reviews of several cameras and then go play with the ones on your shortlist.
For video editing there is really only one choice , a Mac G4 and Final Cut Pro. If you cant get your head around Final Cut Pro then iMovie comes with the G4 and is free. Dollar for Dollar you're going to get stress free system using a mac and either FCP or iMovie. |
We use a 3CCD camera and also use a G4 and Final Cut Pro, but I have heard good things about Vegas too. 5-6G's
|
hmm i have two g4's that i dont ever use ... might have to learn how to use a mac

You have more fancy options and settings in real time ! If you are thinking of getting a RTX-10 .......... you may as well go for the RTX-100 instead ! |

Total and COMPLETE BULLSHIT on the mac is the only way comments.
I've done a number of full movie ADR (Auto Dialog Replacement) using PC systems, we've done full commercial music video's on PC Systems (Nuendo, Vegas, Premere). I've done 5.1 DVD's using Nuendo. Not to mention a Ton and a half of conversions from old VHS footage and concert video's re-done onto DVD with PC's... And thats only the mainstream side. Yea sure, Final Cut Pro is good software im not nocking that but it is far from your only choice. I personaly think MAC's are overpriced for what they do. My music studio runs on PC's and Analogue equipment no macs here... I'm far from a mac hater, I like the things but I find them to be over priced. If you have a mac allready and want to do editing sure fine, but if you don't there is no reason to not stick on the PC. And if you dont get a 3CCD camera dont even bother asking for pro or semi pro advice... |
