Fletch, looks like you go to some good shows. How do you find out about them? Would be awesome to check out some of these bands live.

this is my scene, this is what i do, this is all i know.

i dont watch tv or listen to the radio thats for sure,it disgusts me the music they ploay, nothing worst than watching shit bands get rich.

LA Weekly is a good place to start, the back section of the LA weekly is full of all the shows in LA everyweek but you dont live near LA so it would be useless.

I live in the heart of this scene so its hard to not get involved when its like a spider web around me ;)

i also meet a lot of bands through friends, am also active in this scene so it keeps me finding new bands and shit. I have friends in bands and go out to support them and attend shows weekly, if you go out constantly you are bound to find kick ass shit to listen to, I prefer the small bar shows like this and I dont go to concerts that are big or cameras are not allowed, this is the scene man.

i love the punk rock scene here.

LA Weekly comes out on Thursday and they are free, the liquor store i go to has them, the sites nowhere near as cool as having the La Weekly to flip through.

A lot of my friends go to various shows down here at the different bars/clubs. I don't know all the different genres of punk rock, or rock for that matter, but they're into a rock completely different than I. Simple chords, weak drums/bass, and catchy lyrics. That isn't me. When you listen to a song and can tell that the singer is pissed off, that's me. Loud, obnoxious, hate filled fury waiting to wreak havoc amongst the weak.

I haven't heard anything new that I like in ages, it's depressing. I'll have to check out some of your links later today, I'm sure I'll find something I'm into...

I find new music almost every week man, bands I have never heard of open for bands I go to see all the time, the bar scene here is packed with live entertainment unfortunately that is the costly and time consuming part of finding good bands.
