United Colo Sucks !!!

United Colo gave us 24 hours notice of a 1.5 hour outage

So far they have been down for over 8 hours

So we call them and say "wassup"

They tell us it will be another 8 - 10 hours at least, and all our servers are on a "PLANE" to sagonet

Unfuckingbelievable

Giorgio_Xo 06-21-2003 11:43 PM

You should demand a free month.

Chris 06-21-2003 11:45 PM

xactly one free month or a hug n a kiss :D

AdultNex 06-21-2003 11:46 PM

I can't stress how you should do your HOMEWORK first before jumping onto a host. Go to WHT, and do a search on your host.

HardProfits 06-21-2003 11:49 PM

wht - can you tell me the URL please?

for us in the dark ;-)

People have been saying they suck for months. This shouldn't be surprising if you've done your research.

xerox 06-22-2003 01:55 AM

I'v been with united colo for almost a year, they've been GREAT until recently, my server has been up and down constantly for the past 2 months, so I'm with Candid now

Rackshack.net.......just as cheap, but a MUCH better network.

Theo 06-22-2003 02:54 AM

HardProfits, I have a friend who's hosting co. had many servers at sagonet. More than ever lately they were having problems with speed, and very poor connectivity, so he moved from sagonet to level3. Currently the premium as some guys call bandwidth providers offer very good deals. I believe the difference is close to minimal at this point of time.

Theo 06-22-2003 02:56 AM

if you are on aol dialup try to connect to sagonet network...it will take a decade. This is not good for your paysite members.

I have heard some horro stories about RackShack to be honest

And to Soul_Rebel, thank you so very much for your informative feedback

keyDet79 06-22-2003 05:11 AM

HardProfits,

If you need affordable prices, good support and a stable network (servers are located at eXchange colo), check out VibeHosting.com or add me to your ICQ list so we can discuss it (I noticed messages sometimes get lost otherwise).

We can beat all rackshack prices and offer better support and more flexibility when it comes to upgrades/downgrades to your hardware or bandwidth.

cotsios 06-22-2003 05:22 AM

This will help you.

It seems SagoNetworks bought Unitedcolo and they are moving their servers to their own DC.

Rackshack is GOOD if you know how to manage a server

SABAI 06-22-2003 05:37 AM

read my sig, WEBAIR is the only reliable host

PicturesContent 06-22-2003 07:22 AM

WTF?!!!!

I just prepayed for my ded. server with them and now I read this!
It is not even set up yet... hmm... what should I do now?

PicturesContent 06-22-2003 02:18 PM

*bump*!!!

Hansm 06-22-2003 02:30 PM

unitedcolo sucks.

im having 19 servers with rackshack and only 16 seconds downtime in the last year, so not bad i think.

69adulthost 06-22-2003 02:37 PM

That sucks in a sucky way. :(

49thParallel 06-22-2003 02:49 PM

Rackshack is the way to go. Just like United Colo, the servers come virtually unmanaged. But Rackshack's prices are better and their online chat and forum will answer virtually any question for you.

I just SSHed into one of my Rackshack servers ...up for 279 days. In fact, I don't recall any downtime on any of my 5 servers.

plane rides are always fun

TT-LO 06-23-2003 10:51 PM

They are still down.... Didn't find the terms on UnitedColo.net Who can suggest what document may be prove for 6 months chargeback?

Kimmykim 06-23-2003 10:54 PM

I like Moose and ISPrime for cheap bandwidth with kick ass support. I dont recall us having any downtime with Moose, he's been very conscientious in our dealings as well.

XFR and Cavecreek will cost you a good bit more, but the folks running those outfits are nothing short of fantastic in my book.
