To be fair, the dirty link isn't Hatch's fault. A lot of expired domain names are being snapped up by porno sites.
In other news, the development company responsible for Hatch's website, GSL Solutions, has purchased a site license for the menu system on Hatch's site.
The company bought a professional license, according to Andy Woolley, the programmer who wrote the code. As per Woolley's licensing agreement, GSL Solutions has added the license number, copyright notices and a link to the website of Woolley's company, Milonic Solutions, to the source code for Hatch's website.
GSL Solutions is also responsible for the websites of several other senators. Those that use Milonic's menu system, such as Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.), also have the requisite license numbers, notices and links in their source code.
"It was all a misunderstanding, an honest mistake," said a spokesman for GSL Solutions. "As soon as we found out about it, we contacted Milonic and we bought the license to end any controversy about this issue."
