Domain laws
In the United States am I suppose to have a adult word in the domain url? Something that states that it is indeed a adultsite.
xxx porn adult gangbang etc. I thought there was some kind of new law or something that makes this mandatory. Anybody know the facts. I want to buy more domains and want to insure I am not breaking any laws |
It's a new law that makes it illegal to send the "innocent" surfer to a porn site unkowingly. These days it's best to register something that definitely indicates the content is sexually oriented.

The law has to do with intent, so they would have to prove you intended to trick someone who didn't want to go to porn into going to porn. If you use a warning page and/or content labeling, then you should be able to show that you didn't intend to trick anyone.
Most porn sites don't use the word XXX in their domain and they do fine. Just don't register KidsClub.com and send it to porn. If you're really scared, talk to your lawyer. |
All right, as long as it isn't a obvious attempt to fool surfers. I think I understand. Thanks guys
