Your Favorite Horror Movie made in 2000 - 2003

I am going to have to say The Ring was the best one then Darkness Falls comes in second......

DarkBob 06-19-2003 06:52 AM

House of 1000 Corpses

Freestyleman 06-19-2003 06:53 AM

the ring

sherie 06-19-2003 07:00 AM

I don't think I seen a really good horror made inbetween those years. The Ring was alright not scary, a little morbid of sorts, I would like to see the House of 1000 Corpses! Is that out on DVD?

Krome 06-19-2003 07:04 AM

The Ring and Darkness Falls were both pretty entertaining. Ghost Ship was worth watching just to see the first scene where they all get cut in half. That was probably the coolest scene ever in a horror movie. Too bad the rest of the movie sucked.

I also got a kick out of Jeepers Creepers, even though most people hated it.

I can't even think of any others that have been released.

Haven't seen House of 1000 Corpses yet, but I heard it's good.

KRL 06-19-2003 07:47 AM

Finding Nemo.

evildick 06-19-2003 07:51 AM

Another good one was the Devil's Backbone. Not scary, but certainly creepy. It's a foreign film and it's dubbed, so that just makes it that much better as a horror flick.

There's a scene where an older women with a leg amputation gets fucked, so you know it's got to be good.

Dveron 06-19-2003 07:51 AM

To me The Ring wasn't really a horror film, more a psychological thriller. It was good just not scary. Darkness Fall was horrible apart from the first 5 minutes, don't understand how you guys like that, it was chopped to bits and just silly.

The first half of Jeepers Creeper was cool until they actually started showing you the monster and he goes all Terminator.

Cabin Fever coming out soon is supposedly pretty good horror in the woods.

demented 06-19-2003 08:00 AM

I just seen Darkness Falls lastnight. Damn good movie!
I seen House Of 1000 Corpses about a week ago and to be honest, it wasn't better than The Ring or Darkness Falls. It got kinda boring I think.

crockett 06-19-2003 08:06 AM

I'd say the Ring...

eraman 06-19-2003 08:50 AM

I have not seen a house of 1000 dead people and I have heard nothing about it so I do not know if I am going to buy the DVD till I get some feed back on it. Has anybody sent "They" I tought it was dumb not very scary at all the best part was the first 10 min. Ghost Ship was pretty dumb excpet for the first seen like some had said I am going to agree with them 100% on that....

Gutterboy 06-19-2003 08:53 AM

The Others

candyflip 06-19-2003 08:55 AM

Freddy vs. Jason will make the 2003 cut. It's not out yet, but the trailer looks wicked.

SykkBoy 06-19-2003 10:51 AM

There were some really good ones, so hard to pick just one

Ringu
Audition
Battle Royale (not so much a horror movie, but horrific aspects)
House Of 1000 Corpses
The Others

oops, "Ringu" was made in 1998...but I didn't see it until 2002 ;-)) while I like "The Ring" it just didn't have the same level of tension as the Japanese original...

So The Ring was a remake of a Japanese movie? I did not know that.. I will have to be on the look of that one accept I hate sub titles.

Most horror movies suck.

The Ring and Ringu were good.

Feardotcom sucked.
"They" sucked big time.
Darkness Falls was just stupid.

eraman 06-19-2003 12:16 PM

Yeah Feardotcom was really stupied I did not even get through that whole movie. But I tought Darkness Falles was pretty good.

Yup, there's actually a Ringu movie series, including a tv show (I believe it was a made for tv movie) and a couple novels.

I love Japanese horror and subtitled or not, they rock.

Amongst the other good ones (that will no doubt get Americanized versions):
The Eye
Dark Water
Audition
Battle Royale (I can't wait for the sequel, while the world waits for sequels to The Matrix, Terminator, Spider-Man, etc. I'm drooling over myself for every bit of news over Battle Royale 2)

open your mind and explore the world and you'll find a treasure trove of little known gold.
