I listened to that Weezer song yesterday that mentions KISS, but can't say I have played them in many moons. I saw them live in the late 70's at the Montreal Forum and was a huge fan about 20 years back though.

Never. But I do listen to Iggy Pop every day. Usually "Search and Destroy".

I have the 4 original solo efforts that they released when they first came out .... still wrapped in cellophane ...

I've been offered a few hundred bucks for them, but I am holding on to them, and I will prolly pass them on to my kids ... I don't need a few hundred dollars that bad to warrant getting rid of them ..

I think I can recite almost all the lyrics off of Alice Coopers Welcome To My Nighmare album and I probably haven't listened to it in a decade. Maybe I should re-visit some of the oldies but goodies gathering dust.

My mom was a music collector and loved to rock, and loved Elvis and rock and roll she was a huge KISS, SABBATH, and ALICE COPPER fan so it bled onto me.

It's funny how music reacts with different people.

I love it. The LAST TIME you heard KISS was before I was born, yet I play it daily. What a funny thing.

Funny story behind those albums too ...
I found them originally in a Zeller's (Canadian Kmart-like store) bargain bin for like $1.00 each ... I was only like 9 or 10 when they came out ... I had no idea who they were, but bought the albums because I thought they looked kewl !!

I brought them home and played them, and that was it ... I was a fan.

The complete unopened set I have, I quite acidentally stumbled upon a few years later.

my natural instincts lead me to conflict... didn't realize it was a nostalgia thread.

Did you know the original name for the band was supposed to be "FUCK"..... (Simmons preference)..... but they came to the conclusion that it might be a little harsh and so chose the next four letter word they could think of.

Ummm ... It took Jon Entwistle's death to finally put The Who's Farwell Tours to rest ....

And I dunno ... but I would not put it past Roger and Pete to find a sit-in for Jon, the next time they are strapped for cash ...
