BENTON HARBOR, Michigan (CNN) -- As many as 300 officers from the Michigan State Police and surrounding jurisdictions moved into this small town Wednesday, hoping to prevent more violence after two nights of rioting triggered by the death of a black motorcyclist fleeing white officers in a high-speed chase.

The city has declared a state of emergency and imposed a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew for children under the age of 16. Adults going to and from work are not affected by the curfew.

They are rioting over a guy that had a suspended license, was running from the police, had drugs on him and I think had prior drug convictions. Shows a lack of brain power and class in that neighborhood. Fucking idiots.

This is what happens when a certain political group keeps a certain ethnicity as a pawn. When you drill into someones head over and over again that their life is shit because of whitey, all it takes is a match to light the fuse.

Apparently there is a long history of police abuse in the area and this was 'the straw that broke the camel's back' The same type of instant justice witnessed in numerous negro lynchings in the past.

How is someone fleeing the police, police abuse? ANYONE regardless of race fleeing the police is stupid but to do it on a bike on city streets? you're just asking for it.

IF you were going to run atleast do it on the highway where you have long straight aways and room to move around.

Maybe you didn't read my post but here it goes again, the area itself has a history of abuse by the police so everyone hears 'black guy killed by cops' of course the place goes up in flames, what did you expect? I got this from ABCnews don't kill the messenger.

But the cop didnt kill the guy. The guy killed himself by running from the police.

it isnt like if it was a white guy, suspected of being a drug dealer, with prior convictions, and driving with a suspended license, the police would have said "ahh forget it, hes one of us" ;)

Yeah I'm with you here, nonetheless this information was probably not available to the rioters at the time and the riots happend for 2 days while information was probably being sorted out. Riots are spontaneous, dynamic outbursts of rage - logic or reason is not something that happens during riots usually.

I would agree that its spontaneous except in this situation they rioted, went to bed and decided they would show everyone just how many scum bags can be raised in one community by going out and burning shit and terrorizing people for a second night.

I think thats the 3rd black killed by police in the last year in that town. They're starting to get pissed off.
