mysqldump keeps fucking up the program!
I'm trying to dump a large database with mysqldump... but it keeps loosing characters... does anyone know what options to set to fix this?
|
yes
mysql> DUMP database or cum onto girls face Grant all gooch permission to SLUT in CUM That should work |
that didn't work! try again! :)
|
Losing what characters? How big is the database, it should work fine.
|
it's about 3mb... and I get errors importing it... I look at the file and I have lines half missing and some lines merged together... :feels-hot
|
i'm transfering the file in ascii
|
Did it work alright before?
Did you check the database for corruption before dumping it? |
I've never heard of this problem before. 3mb should be no problem, one of our databases is over 175mb and it dumps fine.
You might want to consider reading the mysql docs/support forum: http://www.mysql.com/documentation/index.html |
the database works fine... I'm currently using it on a site I'm moving it to another server...
mysqldump works on small databases only... |

If it's older than 3.23, try this command instead: isamchk |
yes edit it manually

I FINALLY got the shit transferred over... DAMN was that a FUCKING HASSLE...
Luckily, my databases consisted of shitloads of tables instead of just one table with a shitload of entries... So I was able to export/import sections at a time because phpmyadmin gave me the option of selecting what tables I wanted to export... Thanks Mr.Fiction and everyone else for your help! :) |
