streaming video??
 

Hey.. I need a streaming video/chat solution!! I talked to Eyeball, and they want $2/month per user, and I average 20,000~ new sales per month, so this is really a ridiculous price.

Does anyone know of any companies who offer a streaming software solution, that does picture push, or something similar, with at least 20-30 frames per second, and sound, and possibly chat?

I want it to be peer to peer, and automatically detect webcams, so it doesn't require a lot of configuration for the model, and zero configuration for the end-user.

Any ideas???

Windows media encoder requires the model to have both an encoder card, and a really good system. And, it isn't really very adequate for dial up users. There are a lot of better alternatives, I just don't know of many.

why not have somethin custom developed, there are tons of good developers who have done stuff like this out there, just an idea

You know of any? In my experience, it's way too hard to find good developers who actually know what they're doing; Plenty of people claim they do. Referrals would help.

Dont know any off hand but I did have lots of stuff done custom for me (not what you need) the rule I always use is to hire someone who developed something like you need already or something similair then he can modify the source code or add any features.

Are you sure you want a p2p kind of setup? Chances are that the model will only be able to support 1 or 2 connections on their Broadband connection.

and, yeah, there is software out there where models can support 7-8 users if they're on broadband.... for instance, ImLive.com uses eyeball, and iFriends.com uses their own stuff.. and it works fine for up to 8 users..

why is it important for it to be P2P? With something like CamgirlsLive, FirecrackerVideo, Windows Media - girl uploads her video and a server rebroadcasts - girl can do semi-private, free chat without worrying about how her connection is. Unless u want the customer to also be able to show himself to the chick.
