Land of the Free? Not here not now.

In the past year

One girl and her husband lost their jobs with the Chandler Police when she was discovered on dreamnet.

One girl's husband lost his part time job with the same police force for the same reason.

One girl just lost her job as a teacher when discovered by a parent of a student.

One girl just was suspended a bookeeper for a grocery chain because her website images were offensive to a fellow employee. www.webhoneys.com/pattie

None of these incidents were work related yet in each case in this "Free " country all of these ladies have been penalized for having their own legal adult website.

This is really messed up. Would this hapoen if they lived in your country?

Gabriel 06-17-2003 11:17 AM

Why were the offended parties looking at that material in the first place?

Over here they'd probably get interviewed on Network TV, get a modelling contract from the Dutch Playboy, and get a raise.

If she's really a schoolteacher then she's pretty stupid to be posing on porn sites.
Imagine throwing your career away just to make a couple hundred dollars posing nude.

It is her right to pursue any legal business. She broken no laws, maybe bad judgement but not illegal.

Freedom works both ways...

I'm not saying it's right, but employers have freedoms too...

This a conservative, self-righteous country. It is only the land of
the free as long as you agree to and abide by their uptight,
puritanical, hypocritical point of view.

This country is turning into a scary place...

watch your back

And what about that parent surfing for porn... giving a bad exemple to his kid?

and her career is not ruined since she will win in court.
If you accuse someone of giving the bad exemple, you need to prove that this exemple is wrong... Try to prove in court that posing nude is wrong!:2 cents:

I agree with you. In the past 30 months this country has become a very scary place to live.

nope, you cannot fire someone just because you want to... (especially if that person is in a union)

as exemple, you cannot fire some because he is muslim, gay, etc...

Moose 06-17-2003 11:52 AM

Your not seeing the big picture here.

Those employers are using their freedoms as well by firing them.

It is not a one way street.
