or have those become a thing of the past?

Mousepads used to be all the rage as part of a promo package... but has the widespread use of optical mice forced the extinction of the mousepad? I ask (in part) because, I still use a mousepad as a drink holder so the glass doesn't condensate on the desk. But every so often, they need to be replaced. And I'm fresh out.

I have hardwood floors and everything slides around, a few old mousepads solved that problem...

I have a HUGE Wacom tablet, and wireless mouse and stylus pen... does that count?
It is like a mouse pad... just big, and USB powered.

I have an old school one from 3 years ago, it rocks, for both mice and beverages. You can even stick it in the dish washer.

nope no point no mouse balls anymore just a red light. I have a wireless mouse and it works great just on my table

I hate the sound and feel of a mouse on just a table top.. I used a mousepad with my optical too... I guess it was just a personal preference. It never messed anything up or anything.

I guess I'm a geek too, the little cushion for my wrist on the mousepad I have is comfortable. I don't think I'd ever use an old school flat one again though, no point.
