Processor e-mail lists... how come?
Ok so people are always offering like 2 million e-mails from say EPOCH or IBILL etc...
Can you explain to me how they get hold of these lists, does the processor have the right to sell them? I ask because someone signed up to my site with a unique email address eg [email protected] and now they are getting spammed, they signed up over a year ago. Now I have never sold or exporting the list of e-mails from Globill so how is this guy getting all the spam? No wonder people don't want to sign up to sites if this happens. |
I've heard plenty of people purporting to sell lists from iBill and CCBill however I'm pretty sure its bullshit. We've periodically seeded our signups at both iBill and CCBill with unique email addresses to see if they ever crop up anywhere. The oldest seeds date back a couple of years, but so far no spam to them. We haven't tried this with other processors, so I can't speak to your Globill situation.

It's not bullshit, there were people who had inside connects at certain billing companies, this was 2-3 years ago.
Most people selling these lists nowadays are bullshitting about were they came from. |
everyone's got a price,
I am pretty sure there is an employee could find or know someone that has access to those files, |
There were definately older lists out there. I don't think the newer emails are out there due to the fact that the billers are more strict with that stuff nowadays.
