Get it in writing, man. Semi-exclusive can mean anything, so if they tell you they are only selling it to 2 other webmasters and then never selling it again, get that in writing on a contract.

Exclusive content belongs only to you. If you commission an exclusive set, it's yours to do with as you wish, even resell it. Be careful when buying exclusive as well. Some providers call a set exclusive, but what they mean, is it's exlusive to you for a few months or a year, then they sell it to other people.

Exclusive contracts vary from producer to producer, one shouldn't assume the ability to resell it automatically. I know our exclusive web licenses don't include any resale rights for the regular rates, if they want resell then it's a much higher rate.

Well i shoot 2 scenes a day, i dont load my site with scenes right away, here are last 2 that was done:
http://www.amacontent.com/trailers/450.wmv
http://www.amacontent.com/trailers/392.wmv

So its easy to make a semi - exclusive deal that works best for both of us.

So do you own the content or do they own it? If they don't have the rights to resell it, then I assume you still own it, you are just giving them exclusive web rights (and possibly keeping the option open to sell it in other media?). Like I said, get it all in writing. Definitions of exclusive vary. When I get exclusive, I ask for the originals and make sure it's very clear that the content is mine...all media rights and resell rights.

yes when i sell exclusive i just turn obver the mini dv, releases and IDs. I go as far as having client send me their own releases
