I've got a 2nd generation VW GTI that we're rebuilding. It's in my garage sitting next to the V6 engine that we're going to swap into it.

When all is said and done, we're shooting for about 350-400 hp. A nice unassuming little pocket rocket. Should perform nicely on the track.

Yeah they do :) We have a VW we've done up (but it's had a spat of problems from us being forced to park it for a while due to the driver's back injury), and we have lots of friends with sweet VW's. Our mechanic does a lot of Vw and Audi racecars etc and man.. some of the vehicles at his shop are enough to make ya wet your pants. Good luck, show some pics when it's done! :)

I am doing the body work this week. Just finished putting a new quarter panel and doors on last night. Next week she gets primed and painted. That's the biggest problem I've had to face so far...picking the damn color. I'm leaning towards silver, like this one:

Did it have the big firebird decal on the hood? Those are sweet.

I've always wanted a black TransAm just like The Bandit. I'd have to wear the black shades and grow a big mustache.

Never see any of those around anymore.

Ray@TastyDollars 06-15-2003 07:10 AM

A 1988 Mustang, threw out the 302 and dumped in a heavily modifeid 1969 351W with NOS. On the dyno it made 437HP at the wheels. It also had a 150HP NOS power shot. The car ran a best of 11:96@110 mph without the NOS and 10:92@121 with NOS on 2nd and 3rd gear.

The best part about this was, the car was my daily driver. All I did when I brought it to the drag strip was put on a set of DOT slicks on the rear. Ahhhhh those were the days, I sold it about 8-9 years ago, i still miss it :(

Sassyass 06-15-2003 07:14 AM

I had a cream colored 81 Camero with a 6" rise manifold, dual 750 double pumpers and an automatic NOS nitro system. (The last inch of the gas pedal would activate it.)
I put sky blue honeycomb Firebird rims on it. Looked like a complete piece of shit. Never changed out the speedometer so It only did 85mph as far as I could tell...

Why are you pissed? A blessing is what I would call it.... you have a huge wing on a FWD car. It doesn't look good. It doesn't improve your performance (takes traction away from the tires that move and adds weight). Girls laugh at big wings. What you need are some sTicKaZ. Little weight, add mad horsepowazzz.

Mr.Teen 06-15-2003 07:17 AM

I have a 1987 olds 442, the ultimate guido mobile. Would you l ike to race juicy? :Graucho

My dad made his '66 6 cyclinder Mustang sound like an 8!!! hehe, nothing too crazy, but his '72 suburban is going to be pimpin, 22 inch rims, escalade interior....man I'm hot already!

And his '68 Shelby GT-350, it's going to rock, stock style.

xdcdave 06-15-2003 10:14 AM

I have a Toyota MR2 Spyder that has needed to go to the shop every week since I've owned. This weekend the alternator died, so its going back to the shop today.

Does that count?

maybe I need some stickers

KRL 06-16-2003 06:39 AM

My bro had a 70's Mustang Mach Boss 429 that was all decked out for street racing.

I rode in it one time and it was scary as hell cause it just ripped massive horsepower with the slightest touch of the accelerator and you literally felt like you were riding on the engine block.

Vlad PL 06-16-2003 06:40 AM

I got civic with jet turbine , 16,300 hp , blow me :)

beavis 06-16-2003 06:45 AM
