the book was the single most horrifying thing i've ever put into my brain (i finished it last night). SO MUCH better than the movie--the antiwar message is front-and-center, ever present in the book, but sadly contained inside joe bonham's brain. you are trapped as he is, you experience what he experiences, you feel what he feels, you dream what he dreams. his frustrations and triumphs are yours. READ IT! and for those of you who like the metallica video so you spent years trying to find the movie....the book is available used CHEAP! take the time out to read it...you won't be able to put it down.


This sounds like me

it's an old black and white movie about a soldier who goes to war and is in a coma and all the shit he has to deal with as a result. If you like war movies it's definately worth watching

I love old war movies but the review I posted above was actually talking abou the book. Has anyone read the book.


Every book I have ever read the book was so much more better it was just sad.

The movie might be good but I have always been disapointed by movies that were based ont books that I had read.
