    half-life 2 OMFG

    OK I just got done watching a 25min video of the half-life 2 game play and jesus fucking christ this game is going to kick so much ass. The graphics are so intense the physics engine is soo realistic I know in September I won't be coming out of my room for a few weeks.

      That tech demo is amazing isnt it ... did you know the Minimum Requirements for the game will be:

      700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card

      Obviously if you want the ultimate experience you'll be lookin at shelling out money for a new fancy schmancy graphics card, but it is nice to know that it will be accessable for everyone

          Ignoring the graphics almost entirely the game physics are insane. It's nice to see that some people dont spend all day just looking at p0rn.

                                                  Hehehe, evercrack 2 looks addictive, but the physics and graphics of half life 2 just put all other technologies to shame ... hell, there are 40 seperate muscles in characters faces alone on the ingame graphics ...

My whole family is HL crazy, so I'll be fighting my husband and daughter for playing time, too...I have the vid you linked to, the new vehicles you can drive instead of the ol' preprogrammed train look motherfucking awesome! And I can't wait to get my hands on that manipulator gun (I think that's what they're calling it -- the thingie you can pick stuff up with and throw it).

                                                                                              Yeah, i read it was a VERY HEAVILY modified version of the Havoc Engine as well ... but I thought Dues Ex was based on the Unreal Engine ...

                                                                                                      I bet doom3 will be even better eye candy, but HL2 will have the storyline that will immerse you deeper.

                                                                                                      Screenshots from HL2 remind me of HG Wells' War of the Worlds.

                                                                                                                      the engine of this game IS powerful indeed, they based themselves on older engines just like the GeoMod engine which was pretty good at demolishing environment and stuff like that... but the physics and all... it IS outstanding work.

                                                                                                                                                              "All Valve will say now is that it is utilizing an all-new engine (for TF2) that will be used for Counter-Strike 2 as well, and that we should expect it sometime next summer."
                                                                                                                                                              It's been 2 years and still no sign of a CS2.

                                                                                                                                                                          My gaming pc that I got about a year ago should suffice. 2.2ghz p4 1gig rdram, geforce 4 ti 4600 ---- maybe I might upgrade and get whatever the best vid card thats out in september, and maybe another gig of ram.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I'm also a huge HL fan, the first Half-Life's gaming experience was over and above anything at the time and is still pretty decent when compared to most of today's stuff.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I've seen a few of the shorter previews for HL2 and I have to agree that the new physics are very impressive, as are the graphics. My prediction is, that by the time you get tired of playing HL2 single and multiplayer, there'll be some wicked mods out. So those of you who plan to doing something other than playing HL2, I suggest you cancel those plans.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      I'm kind of hoping the guy who did They Hunger will do an updated or just plain whole new version...the zombies and little jumping skulls and walking skeletons would be even creepier with the badass new graphics...
