Is vegas video faster than premier
 

With all things being equal hardware wise. Which one is faster to work with, we are starting to more video production and it seems on premier to takes forever.

Vegas encoding is slow...

Also its refresh is a bit slow as well.

All things considered premere will be faster encoding but is harder to use. Vegas is a good middle of the road solution.

No shit -- i just tried to add some text to a vid -- after an hour of reading docs and looking through the menus -- I gave up and deleted it... You would think by now a zillion versions into development they would have made the interface intuitive by now :1orglaugh

It's quite simple once you know the trick. After that, it's so extremely easy you'll love it.

Hmm..gotta disagree with ya on this one. I've tried premiere, cleaner, tmpmpeg (sp?), lsx, etc..and one of the reasons I did decide to go with Vegas was because it encoded faster than any of them. The only program I found faster was for real media format..and Real.com's Real Producer Plus was a tad faster there. But that's the only one I've found to be so.

ditto. If you have a good enough machine you can ebcode 30 minute movies from Raw AVI to Edited AVI rather quickly.

I run a P4 3.06 GHZ with a gig of ram and 80 gigs of storage just for encoding and this fucker flies.
