small digital cameras that can take panoramas?
just for personal use. i'm looking at getting a new camera, but none of the small digitals seem to have built in 'panorama' (i think that's the correct term) capability. anyone know?

I was playing with my (now) ex's Canon digital camera a while back, and it had a panorama feature built in. This was the PowerShot A70.

Not that it has panorama settings but
But I use my Canon PS230 a lot panorama-like. Just snap 2 quick pics and then stitch em together with "The Panorama Factory". It's by far the best pano software I have come across, looks seamless. The camera is TINY, and takes great pics for the price. I paid $549 Canadian. |
I have an olympus C-3000 that I believe does panoramas, and I also think the one I had before the C-3000, the Olympus D-360 did panoramic pics.

My Canon Ixus 330(very small, but still very strong) can do that.
I think the nme of that one in the US is "Canon powershot S330" Andre |

You have to make one picture, and then goto the right(or left) and make another one in panorama mode, and it makes it good itself...But not single click panorama. Sorry Andre |
I'm thinking about buying the Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom when it's available. Here's a review of the C-740:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/c740uz.html "Up to 10 frames automatically stitchable with CAMEDIA Master software when using Olympus brand xD-Picture Card" I'm not sure whether that's quite what you're looking for, but it's something to consider. |
