I'm just wondering, is stage hypnosis real?

Ya know, where the Hypnotiser commands someone to do funny tasks.

Saw one, really funny, people said they felt like they where sleeping

some are fake...

ive never experienced myself..but i have seen it done up close to a friend of mine at a shcool assembly... it was wierd..no way would she have acted like a freak in front of the whole school.. and the dude told all the kids that they should concntrate on shool work and get good grades before he brought them out of hypnosis...we couldnt get her to do nothing but school work and study for a long time after that....so i guess on some it could work.

I used to work with people who did an act related to hypnosis. They would plant 3-5 people in the audience to do the really bizarre and amusing shit on stage if no one from the audience had a weak enough mind to bite. Other then that they would gather lemmings from the crowd to do the simple sleep - repeat after me - confess your love for cheese stuff.

It's not entirely fake but from what I learned it takes a person with an extremely weak mind to perform complex and outrageous things so it was easier to have a safety net (planted actors) to fall back on in case no one would bite.

I heard it was the other way around, dumber people are harder to hypnotize...
