LAN access between XP and 2K Pro
 

anyone know why whenever I try to access shared folders (or even printers) on another system on my LAN, I always get prompted for user/pass ? I'm not locked out or anything, it's just a pain....

Not 100% sure because I screwed up my LAN in about the same way you did but I seem to recall that there was an option in there somewhere to use passwords or not. I remember turning that option on just to see what would happen and I have yet to find my way back to it to turn it off. So, there you have it, another GFY non-answer.

Have you tried adding the same user/pass on the machine that asks for the pw that you use on the other one to login as?

I thought going from XP to 2000 there is a way to make it remember the password?
