My new laptop has 512 Ram, but its only a 1.6 athlon AMD processor, my next desktop is going to have 2 GB of RAM i swear.

Acer laptops look nice but thats it.. from my experience dealing with their support in case you need them (something broke) is a PAIN

Why on earth would you need 2 GB ram?

Last month I bought an Acer Travelmate 800 LCi (Centrino) and have nothing but good things to say about it. It is very well made and doesn't feel flimsy like my friend's new Gateway laptop.

Sony Viao notebooks or Dell notebooks seem to have a good rep.

Acer is trash :2 cents:

For real, plus, you're going to need 4 DIMM slots-- Most mobos don't have 4.
