Images people harvest from newsgroups and other wonderings

Can people harvest images from public postings, free postings and use those images for profit motive?

Do any of you market to newsgroups?

Besides the traffic people I mean I cant imagine how many ways the create traffic.

the rules say: once an images gets posted in public it becomes public domain, everyone is allowed to use it in any way.

exactly. can't believe how many people don't understand this, the meaning of the word 'public' is pretty self explanatory. once a picture is shown in public, it's public domain. if you're worried about people stealing and profiting from your content, you will want to keep it 'private domain'. That means keeping it in a private members area and npt making it viewable by the general public.

To answer your question seriously...it's illegal to use images from newsgroups for commercial purposes. You'll end up getting sued by someone.

Newsgroups suck for marketing to IMHO
