Internet Explorer Pop Ups
OK, looks like I picked up some bullshit on my PC. Pretty hard to do, too, since I have ZoneAlarm and Norton Works on this piece of shit, too.
So I need help finding how to get rid of this shit - I looked in my "hosts" file, but it is clean. BHO Cop found nothing, same with Zone Alarm and Norton. But, I still get porn consoles while surfing with MSIE. Anyone else run into this problem? If so, what'd you do? |
try running spybot or adaware

Someone should definitely sticky something like this... It gets asked at least twice a week. Don't forget to UPDATE it. |
Steve, i got this shit today as well. It's some kind of new gator or something which I do not know from where it came.. grr
|
Btw, update your browser to the newest patch.

damn, that SpyBot kicks ass! :thumbsup
I had so much funky shit on my computer it wasn't even funny. Gator, and all sorts of crap. It was really bad, my pc was so slow - stuff would crawl. Everythung seems much better now, after running spybot and getting some M$ updates (no critcal updates so I was pretty up to date) Thanks for the link - it is a great program. |
This question is, like, once a week now. Again I say, we need that FAQ for questions we hear over and over and over:
1) Anyone know a good sponsor/host? (ever notice that SEARCH link?) 2) How can I stop all the spam? (anti-spam software? never heard of it?) 3) Is this child pornography? (with a link of course) 4) How do I change the little phrase under my handle (hmm, you've actually NEVER looked at your profile manager?) 5) Where can I get fantastic content cheap that isn't being used by a zillion other websites? (generally speaking...you can't) 6) What niche is left that isn't already oversaturated? (and why would I tell you?) |
I've stopped doing all windows xp updates because I read an article a while back that someone posted a link to on another board (and no I didn't bookmark it and can't remember where the hell it is) that said that there is spyware attached to some of the windows updates that is almost impossible to find. It instructed how to get rid of what is already there and although it didn't recommend not doing updates it did say that you could encounter future problems from continuing to update. Since I stopped updating I stopped having problems.
