This is CyberNet Expo in a nutshell....

No, this is CyberNet Expo in a nutshell: "Help! I'm in a nutshell! How did I get into this nutshell?"

(ok, if you are not an Austin Powers fan then you obviously think I have lost it :)

I know that I am just a newbie, wannabe in an industry full of larger than life people, but I thought the show turned out to be more than I bargained for.

Was this show HUGE? No.
Was this show PROFITABLE? YES...and that, my friends, is all that I care about.

If you look around this industry now you will see that the days of the "money is no object" trade shows are gone. Everyone, including me, is now looking for an ROI on everything we do...and this is a good thing.

I have to agree with what everyone has said on all of the boards that I have read....the shows are like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. If you always remember this, you will never be let down.

I would like to thank all of the sponsors who paid for the show, the dinners, the bus rides, the city tours, the suite parties, the photo shoot parties, the club parties, the girls (oh...WHO can forget the women in this town....WOWZA). I will not even begin to try to name them by name because I will forget someone and feel like shit about it later, but you absolutely know who you are and always know that I have love for you!

I would also like to thank everyone who joined us at our After Hours party and for our nights on the town in the NatNet Party Bus. Long after we are all retired, I will remember weekends like this one as being some of the most enjoyable times in my life.

We had someone take some pics at our After Hours party between many drinks and we took the ones that were useable and put them here for your enjoyment:

http://www.natnet.com/afterhours/

I am sure you will see more on FUBAR sometime tomorrow.

In closing, it was great to see old friends and to make some new ones and NatNet is looking forward to InterNext already!!! Be sure to find us...we would love to get to know each and every one of you!!!

Is everyone who went a hillbilly or a medium sized all-American businessman?

Deepundercover 06-10-2003 03:13 PM

SweetT, do you feel compelled to say how wonderful the show was because you want people to think your business is blowing up? No offense. I'm just repeating the question of my source Mordecai.

May you be blessed in all of your legitimate endeavors...

Great seeing you agian T !

Great pictures ! If anyone was wondering what the big camera was all about.............. I was picked for a docu- soap, They follow a few people around for 6 months and film what goes on in there life.

( I am not the guy on the right in this pic ) That is Mark Prince and from what the newspapers say ................... he makes 5 million a year.

Zebra 06-10-2003 03:26 PM

No offence taken, DUC...you and I have been down this road before and you know it would take more than you to offend me :)

To answer your question, I don't have to try to make people think my business is blowing up....unlike yourself or this Mordecai person, I am out in the public with the industry not hiding behind a keyboard....this is just how I have always done business and don't plan to change now :)

But thanks for your concern :)

T, I'm sorry about missing your party. I wanted to nap off dinner and all the beer from the belmont stakes and slept right the fuck thru till dawn.
You'd think one of my people would have called to get me up.

well, there were probably too many hillbillies there for me anyway.:winkwink:

Deepundercover 06-10-2003 03:30 PM

Thank you SweetT. Your reply brought a tear to my eye.

Hey Todd!!!

Yes, I will always be a newbie!! It helps me to play stupid when I need to ;)

ROI's are something that nobody talked about in the old days, but is a must for any endeavor now. Hell, I remember when we all sent hundreds of thousands of QUALITY clicks to people because it was their BIRTHDAY....who would do that now?? Hell, who could afford to do that now??? ;)

Dude....you were missed, but we had a blast at the party anyway. There were hillbillies everywhere....just like I know you like it :)

Just wish we had won some money on Belmont.....I was a little too confident that Ten Most Wanted was going to win (even though 2nd place is respectable).

Rick...my brutha......you were *SO* missed. Everyone was asking about you and, of course being the newbie, medium sized all-American hillbilly businessman that I am, I didn't even know you weren't going to be there!! Lets get out and about one night this week, my man :)

McAttack 06-10-2003 04:46 PM

SweetT, you guys threw a WICKED party man! My favorite of the entire show. Goes to show, you don't need stripper doing shows and all that. It was great!

Brad Mitchell 06-10-2003 04:49 PM

It was great finally meeting you SweetT! That after party you guys threw the last night was by far the best event of the whole show. Even planning stuff at the last minute, NatNet is always a class act and doing a teriffic job :)

Thanks for the hospitality!

Cheers,

Brad

Whose crotch is that?

foe 06-10-2003 05:29 PM

the one you posted on the "other" board.

Sharpie 06-10-2003 06:57 PM

i want to thank Sweet T for coming through once again, with a memorible event. He always seems to do it!

Some times I almost give up on that Hillbilly, but i have to tell you - he is improving. Sheeesh he must have given almost 12 hours notice this time, up from the 4 hours last show; and must have booked his suite about a month in advance instead of calling me about 3 days before the show. Shows me that there is hope for everyone!

Love ya - ya big teddy bear!

NatMatt 06-10-2003 07:03 PM

Ah, you refer to the Name that Crotch game...

Alas, Tony, Jeff and I have taken a vow of silence and will not name names. However, guesses are encouraged and the true owner is welcome to come forward :)

Hungryman, thanks for the kind words. We had a blast seeing everyone again and meeting new friends!

Zebra, 2 am pizza was a godsend! Man we were desparate...and how we withstood the temptation of 30 girls and 61 nipples (is that right??)

Rick, we all missed you and the Consumption Junction crew. Jman and I did our best without you, but it was truly difficult...you just can't skip any more shows, period.

JFK, I await your pictures with some hesitation...a camera can be a dangerous thing.

Of course, I want to thank Sleazydream...whose business cards provided a valuable and needed service to everyone. Jeff brought a spare home for LBBV, who was very appreciative.

What a great event Fay!

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
