TGP/MGP owners let's save everyone some time!!!
 

Just finished hand submitting to my list of 160 mgps/tgps and realized that most of the time I spend submitting goes to create a description of the desired length.

A lot of sites doesn't even write how many characters they want, this makes me go from the submission page to the saving page back and forth til I get the correct length.

A couple of weeks ago I created a free script that solves this problem and posted it on videosboard. I can now see that 15-20 sites has started to use it. One site that's using it is Ramis clips:

What it does is to show if your description is of the desired length with a red/green and disables the submit button if you've written an undesired length.

This script is pretty simple to implement and saves both the webmaster and the submitter some time that can be used better, why not for grabbing a beer... :drinkup

Couldn't the tgp owners, just put a max characters attribute on the form field?

It's kinda funny you should mention this.

I tried to submit to an MGP yesterday. They have a jav<i></i>ascript that won't let you submit unless you write a description of at least 38 characters, and when you do, the submission script rejects the submission because the description is too long. Fuckin retarded I tell ya... webmaster intellect at it's finest.

I wish everyone at least did that... but many don't.. the thing about this script is that prevents to short descriptions too.. and in the "advanced" version it also shows the one filling it the form if they're in the desired length... the tgp/mpg owner does not need to reject/blacklist anyone for to short descriptions... this kind of texts is not necessary...

It still doesn not validate what you write though.. that will have to be in a more advanced version... I won't make that one for free... :Graucho

We'll this script does still need some IQ to configure... allowing 40-42 characters or similar is a little bit to evil... don't blame the script for that... :)

Just spoke to Neo who's running perfy.com... he changed the limits for descriptions so it's not so narrow (was 5 chars) he doubled that so it will be much easier to submit to his site... so go ahead and submit some really nice galleries to him...
