The Most Fun I have EVER had! (Pic!)

Bryan Y and I rented Jet Skis on Sunday and spent the afternoon racing up and down Lake Pleasant, a few miles from the Lightspeed office. I have never had so much fucking fun.

I'm a little bit sore, and burnt to a crisp... But I'm already looking into buying a pair of jet skis.

Anyone here into this and have any advice?

Nina 06-09-2003 06:45 PM

WebTitan 06-09-2003 06:45 PM

Hey atleast Richard was doing work. This was all research for the next new Lightspeed niche "Wet & Wild Water Women":winkwink:

Indeed 06-09-2003 06:48 PM

jetskis are fun once and a while...most people I know that owned one sold it after like 2 years....you get bored real fast...you better get a boat if you don't have one already :)

Lane 06-09-2003 06:49 PM

i'd say, speeding in the water is much more fun than speeding on the road or in the air

Rochard 06-09-2003 06:53 PM

Oh, forget to mention the little accident I had.... When I hit Bryan. I ran right over the front of his jetski. On my way home from work I had to pay off the $400 damage bill. Opps.

KK - As soon as you get better I'll invite you along.
Nina - That gives me a reason to buy one even sooner.

Where's the naked chicks? We didn't bring any cameras out on the water with us - This time. I'm sure we will next time.

Supercharged 06-09-2003 06:56 PM

You can get bored pretty quick on the sit down jobs, I have a 750sxi stand up and its alot more challenging...

Why 06-09-2003 07:01 PM

go with polaris or yahama, give me a few minutes to find the link, ill show you the one to get. its the SHIT!

Wizzo 06-09-2003 07:08 PM

It's ALL about Yahama when it comes to Jetskis... Better performance, less maintience, etc...

In fact, according to a couple of friends that ride the Pro tour, the only reason any of the pros ride others is because they are sponsored by them...

Why 06-09-2003 07:08 PM

ok, get the honda "R-12X"

"With its turbocharged 1235cc engine, incredible class-leading maneuverability and impressive power-to-weight ratio, it's the highest-performing PWC on the water?period." <from thier website. http://www.hondamotorcycles.com/wate...lId=ARX1200T23

ill back that up too.

retail MSRP is $9,999. but if you buy two with a trailer, youll get a good deal at any reasonable dealer that pushes a few of them out the door a year.

but those are seriously the ones to have, they get up and GO. and its only a two seater. but if you want something you can pull a tube behind, then go elsewhere, but if you want a blaster, thats the ride you want. thing turns on a dime. and is more fun then anything else.

EDIT:

the Yamaha "2003 GP1300R" is a nice ride as well.

Now I have the fever, looks like fun

SoBeGirl Video 06-09-2003 07:11 PM

I love those things. They are the coolest inventions. Try the stand up ones if you want to get a real workout.

I think a lot of people are far to high-strung to enjoy boating, its like fishing, just being out on the water drinking beer is half the fun. if you dont like jet-skis; dont bother getting a boat. youll be just as bored. you have to be able to just go to a private beach and chill out, or tie up to other skis/boats and just hang out on the water and kick it.

boating is not for those afflicted with ADD!

I invited you to my invite only industry people pool party because I wanted to see my wife in her bikini..... And you guys didn't stay long enough to go in the pool. I invited you guys jet skiing because I wanted to see my wife in her bikini (again).

And twice you blew me off. Fucker. (I bet half the people won't understand that statement above!) Buzz, We'll do it again as soon as I recover.

As for fishing..... I don't drink, and fishing bores me to tears. There is just no adventure in it for me.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll look into all of those.

THERE WAS!!! That was like 9am when we first got there

By 12 there were a shit load of boats. And by 3pm the water was choppy as shit....

All in All we had a Blast! We should plan a weekend in a few weeks to get webmasters down here to go. They arent all that expensive.

TurboTrucker 06-09-2003 11:00 PM

Try wakeboarding, lots of fun.

Try it behind a Wave Runner:thumbsup

Damn, our little heat wave up north motivated me to get the boat out last week for the first time this year! Gotta love watersports, but to enjoy a wave runner right, you need a hottie holding on for dear life!

pink_in_the_middle 06-09-2003 11:09 PM

I would LOVE to try that... :( But I can't swim.

lagwagon 06-09-2003 11:22 PM

i used to ride the stand up jet skis back in the day when i lived on Guam. i am pretty sure that the ones now have enough power to pull a skier around.

Great, its a damn Phoenix conspiracy to drive me mad before my foot heals.

foe 06-09-2003 11:25 PM

How much does an average jet ski cost?

SleazyDream 06-09-2003 11:29 PM

I always think I'm gona buy a jetski - but to be honest I'm happier just renting them once or twice a year. Where i live they can only be used about 2 months of the year so i dont' see the point in owning them, cleaning them, storing them, towing them around, tuneups, etc. i just want to hop on and go.
Renting is just SOOO much easier, and they are readily availale all over the place.

TurboTrucker 06-10-2003 12:03 AM

You just think you can't swim.

Gee, the most fun I ever had was with a girl. I'm sure that big bathtub toy is fun, but can it be more fun than a good roll in the hay?

Becky 06-10-2003 07:02 AM

Looks like so much fun :)

I have never actually gone before....hopefully I will get to sometime this summer!!

loverboy 06-10-2003 07:25 AM

jet ski, my kind of sport.

JMM 06-10-2003 07:36 AM

If you want to be a member of the PWC fraternity you have to get the terminology right. Those are wave runners, not jetski's.

They are a blast!!! They will beat the shit out of you every single time, but you wont know it until the next day and you will forget it by the next time.

We have had ours for 4 years and love them. Yamaha or Kawasaki is the only way to go. Do not get Seadoos, they suck ass.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 06-10-2003 07:38 AM

i'm trying to talk hubby out of a boat and to get jetskis... i get incredibly bored in a boat...unless i am the one wakeboarding..which isnt often when you have a boat load of guys that just want you to drive so they can have fun..fuckers.

RocHard cameras and water dont mix:( I have proof :winkwink:

[illnet]-Romeo 06-10-2003 07:56 AM

Go for a SeaDoo with DIRECT INJECT, makes a huge difference. I have a 2000 GTX DI that flies. If you really wanna be a badass though you can get the new SUPERCHARGED GTX. But from your story you probably wanna go with a little less power :1orglaugh

LOL Maybe but I'm too terrified of water to find out :( lol

kmanrox 06-10-2003 08:21 AM

sold a couple of sead doo XP's last year before i came here, those fuckers would go 64mph on the water and had handling like a water ferrari... waverunners are a blast, especially on the ocean/shore...

ounique 06-10-2003 09:04 AM

Ah, that reminds me of the days of my youth. Innertubing behind my cousin's boat on the Ohio river outside of Pittsburgh. Dodging body parts and industrial waste. Those were the days. :)

AcidMax 06-10-2003 09:39 AM

Look in the paper for like a 98 Yamaha 1100. I have two of them and the things will hit 65-70mph.

Yamaha is definitely the way to go for Jet Skis.

Andy
