SUGAR is the #1 addictive thing in the world right now. The biggest reason sugar does more damage than any other poison, drug or narcotic is twofold: (a) It is considered a "food" and ingested in such massive quantities, and (b) The damaging effects begin early, from the day a baby is born and is fed sugar in its formula. Even mothers milk is contaminated with it if the mother eats sugar, and (c) Practically 95% of people are addicted to it to some degree or other. http://www.organicnutrition.co.uk/ar...ad-for-you.htm Im tired of seeing FAT kids. |
wtf, its a stupid nasty tasting drink

fine, ban sugar sales to them too
|
it took me ages to cut the sugar, now i don't use it at all
Redbull has a high dose of caffeine and taurine. Not ideal for a 12y.old kid. |
at least they should drink it with vodka

i cut sugar out of my diet a long time ago. i was amazed at how fast I started dropping pounds. when I quit smoking cigarettes I gained about 20+ lbs, started drinking lots of soda and stuff like peppermints and hard candy to pass the cravings, well sugar and sodium is just as bad as cigarettes. no soft drinks and no refined sugar :) |

this shows CONTROL. few people can go without sugar. :thumbsup |
I believe there was something in the news a while back about a teenager having some sort of attack during athletics in school because he drank a bunch of redbull...

How much coke does an average kid drink in a day now, 1L? How many times a month do they eat McDonalds? One can of Redbull is the least of their problems.
|
damn.. no sugar, no soda, no caffeine, no pot, no porn.

caffeine also is addictive and bad for children
ban coffee as well |
ban mcdonalds too
|
shit let's just ban it all and get bow and arrows and hunt deer for food
|
thanks fletch, I doubt I can do the same with caffeine though. I don't mind to eat anything all day, but I need coffee
|
I think effects of RedBull are vastly exagerated..
|

|
It's all about Rockstar... same price with like 4x the shit.

the only bad things I put in my system are beer and pot. i used to consume it all. I dont even take aspirin, hahaha if I quit drinking and smoking herbs I would be totally straight edge. no chemicals in my body except mexican piss and medically grown marijuana. hahah :thumbsup |
as long as they don't do any harm to them, i don't mind. who knows, they were just asked to do so.
crack? that's a different issue. |
no, they were being idiots..giving the local shop keeper hell. I just noticed they were all guzzling redbull. I am sure the last thing they needed was a stimulant.
|
the real red bull
http://www.geocities.com/mrmaltliquo.../sredbull.html |

|

this is almost as bad as the oreo lawsuit. thats the problem with people now adays, they personally think something is wron and dont want their kids to do it, so they move to ban.. when simply they should worry about their own children and not everyone elses.
if parents let their kids do soemthing, thats their business, dont ruin it for everyone |

Alcohol contains 7 kilocalories per gramme. Forty grammes of alcohol (which corresponds to four 25 cl glasses of lager) contain as many calories as 70 g of sugar. As a comparison, four glasses of a soft drink (eg. coke) contain as much as 132 g of sugar, which is twice as much as four glasses of beer. Beers with a higher alcohol content contain more calories. Wines and spirits contain more calories than beer. The calorie content of beer is determined by the quantity of fermented sugars and by the alcohol, and generally varies from 30 to 45 kcal per 100 ml. In comparison to other drinks, this is rather low.' But to answer your question, yes. because most people consume sugar and caffeince daily for their entire life and are addicted to them and dont ever really know. I went on a diet once and started getting really bad headaches, it was because I cut out the soda, ever since then, I have made sure to cut down and eventually stopped drinking it. Unlike drinking alcohol or marijuana, at least I admit they may be bad , but still not as worst as drinking 2 liter cokes and coffee everyday. Ive cut down my drinking and other bad things that Im down to only 2 and one I only do on the weekends. So the comparison could be argued from many angles. 'The problem that arises in coping with sugar addiction is that sugar is in so many common foods now, it's practically impossible to cut it out completely. You can't eat a sandwich without getting sugar from the bread or the mayo. You can't eat a salad without getting sugar from the dressing.' <a href=http://www.womanht.com/health/sugar_addicts_anonymous.htm>Sugar Addicts Anonymous</a> If you dont drink everyday (which i do not) sugar can very well be worst than alcohol, since alcohol has a shitload of sugar anyway. Marijuana is in a whole new league though. ;) |
wanted to add:
marijuana is the only one of the stimulants mentioned that does NOT have a chemically addicting component. sugar, caffeine, and alcohol all cause CHEMICAL addiction, herbs do not. =) |
I am a redbull fan, but this year they released, "Sugar Free" in a baby blue can.
Lee takes the redbull sugar arguement and dumps it in the trash. :-) |
