Some good breaking up songs...

Post some good breaking up songs for me. My girl and I are breaking up. No, I don't wanna talk about it...I wanna listen to some fucking depressing music and wallow for a little while and then get on with my shit.

The only stuff I can think of off the top of my head is Fiona Apple...and while I may be a dyke, that's just so -- girly. Post me the stuff you listen to when your woman leaves, the dog just died, and you lost your job and you're living in a van down by the river.

ahhh... PANTERA!!!

Pantera
Vulgar Display Of Power (1992)
This Love

If ever words were spoken
Painful and untrue
I said I loved but I lied
In my life
All I wanted
Was the keeping
Of someone like you
As it turns out
Deeper within me
Love was twisted and pointed at you

Never ending pain, quickly ending life --

(Chorus) You keep this love, thing, child, toy
You keep this love, fist, scar, break
You keep this love

I'd been the tempting one
Stole her from herself
This gift in pain
Her pain was life
And sometimes I feel so sorry
I regret this the hurting of you
But you make me so unhappy
I'd take my life and leave love with you

I'd kill myself for you, I'd kill you for myself --

(Chorus)

No more head trips

thatdykeliz 06-09-2003 12:00 AM

I'm not breaking up because I hate her...it's really complicated. I just want to be depressed and get it over with, like making yourself puke when you feel nauseated because you know you;ll feel better after you do.

Now I'm listening to some Smiths...I've got "Goodbye to You" by Michelle Branch in my mp3 playlist, because it was on some Buffy eps and Buffy was one of our "things." "Wild Horses" by the Sundays..."Superman" by Five for Fighting cause that's her favorite song..."Crimson and Clover" by Joan Jett cause that's the song she listened to when she was falling in love with me...damn, I'm more girly than I realized. :helpme

Try... "Always and Forever" by Heatwave. Real Old School 70's jam.

"I Swear" by Michael Montgomery I believe.

Or you can go totally OLD SKOOL GHEY and go for "I'm all outta love" by Air Supply. One of my favorites actually.

Hope you feel better soon.

Changes - Black Sabbath

I feel unhappy
I feel so sad
I lost the best friend
That I ever had

She was my woman
I loved her so
But it's too late now
I've let her go

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

We shared the eve's
We shared each day
In love together
We found a way

But soon the world
Had its evil way
My heart was blinded
Love went astray

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

It took so long
To realize
That I can still hear
Her last goodbyes

Now all my days
Are filled with tears
Wish I could go back
And change these years

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

Aly-Python 06-09-2003 12:31 AM

Aha! Sounds like a good one for The Guess Who-American Woman... :winkwink:

If you're truly looking to wallow, use the Blues, darling. That's what they're there for!

Failing that... The BeeGees-Tragedy. The only problem is, one tends to start giggling when wailing along to this classic of self-pity! So it may not achieve the desired effect.

(Hmmm... the hard-and-fast approach. My favourite! Good luck with that...)

Sarah_Jayne 06-09-2003 03:55 AM

don't get sad, get angry even if there is no real reason to be angry.

You Oughta Know - Alanis
The One - Foo Fighters (the real non-radio edit version)

If you want sad:

Burger Queen - Placebo (breath takingly beautiful song)

If you want sad but with hope at the end there is but one song:

Everybody Hurts - R.E.M.

Sarah_Jayne 06-09-2003 03:56 AM

you know, there really is a web site for everything

Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart.mp3
course =)

Korn - 4U.mp3
if you just wanna get pissed off and think of ways to kill her ...
