I'll second the above question. (except for the bahamas part)

SleazyDream 06-08-2003 10:37 PM

just crash the parties and sleep on a couch. that's always the cheapest way to go

Alex From San Diego 06-08-2003 10:53 PM

Sleep is for the weak.....

Why sleep when one day we will all be taking a permanent dirt nap.

Gary 06-08-2003 11:30 PM

robfantasy 06-08-2003 11:57 PM

bphoster 06-09-2003 12:00 AM

I'd stay at the Westin and split a room with someone. And no, you dont sleep anyways.

Guys, I was last August in Miami, and I stayed at a hotel called Ambassador Ressort. It was half a mile far from Westin Diplomat , but cost only $76/night/room (taxes included) and it had a very large beautiful room, pool, close to the beach, so no need to stay in Westin and pay kinda $200/night, if you plan something cheaper.
That hotel was the ONLY one close to Westin, by foot, all others were far and needed a car (taxi).
Its address: 4000 S Ocean Dr. Hollywood, FL 33019
Westin is 3555 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL 33019
(on the other side of the road).
You can see it here or in other sites, search on Google, etc.

Hope it helped. :)

I'll stay at Westin Diplomat from 30th July to 6th August. Will share the 2 beds room with my bussines partner Dynaspain. As we do the long travel from Spain, at least enjoy a week on a good hotel. Also i preffer to stay at the "official" hotel because is allways better for networking with the other webmasters.

ServerGenius 06-09-2003 01:18 AM

Westin's rates are $139 per night. Ok they add a resort fee, and
3 other bullshit charges......like occupancy fee. What the fuck is up
with that? I go to a hotel....of course I will occupy the room while
I stay there.

Anyway including sales tax you're up to $169 or something which
isn't too bad if you consider they charge $30 for breakfast in the
Hotel LOL. Anyway Wendy's is right across the river.

Check the threads of last year in August (probably - search term: Westin), someone complained about the hotel charging his card more than it was actually advertised, to up to some $220 or smth, for some reason.

I have a confirmation from the Westin for our reservation which
includes all the rates and fees for our room. Last year I don't
recall having a problem.....it was more expensive as I recall.

I also know the Westin was VERY PLEASED with the money they
made of InterNext. They were telling everybody that they would
LOVE to host us next year again.

Well, im in the same situation.

right now, I have 4 nights at another property (hotel employee discount, 29 bucks, 3 miles from the hotel (and im getting a car)) and 2 nights at the Westin. Or, I can have 4 nights at the westin if I find another roommate.

Dax 06-09-2003 09:41 AM

There are two hotels that are way less expensive than the diplomat.. about 2 blocks south on the same street...

I have no idea of the names... so I can't help with giving u a phone number... But i could imagine u can show up and get a room that week...

manilaheat 06-09-2003 09:44 AM

Just sleep on the beach ....
