Important LikeWhoa Update! (they might be coming back up real soon)

As of 16 minutes ago...
66.181.160.0/19 is now being announced to AS8001 (nac.net)

What does this mean to the technically not-inclined?
They have a new connection to a new carrier, and probably in a new location...

Could be good news for the users left stranded there....

This sounds promising. I think I might open an account with them. What's their pricing like?

I don't see why anyone would still worry about what's going on at whoa.

Who would still be there by now?

markell 06-08-2003 06:40 PM

who cares really, no one...

Jon2 06-08-2003 06:40 PM

This is good to hear for people who need their data

Jon

BJ 06-08-2003 06:40 PM

russians control 60% of the internet......

so I hear

AdultNex 06-08-2003 06:40 PM

Hopefully, now they'll learn from their mistakes and do much better.

posh rat in hell 06-08-2003 06:42 PM

This is salvation for people who have no backups....
and....

This is what's originating the announcement:
globalnetadv.customer.sec.nac.net (207.99.35.100)
Global Net Advertising -- isnt' that what used to appear on sexcounter.com?

this is true. When I spoke with him earlier he said that Global Net Ad is going to get them up and running and host all LW customers.

LOL

People who go with likewhoa after this are total fools...How many days of downtime is this?

The only reason anyone should have anything to do with likewhoa is to get their data off the servers...

Jon

markell 06-08-2003 06:52 PM

I seriously think that those that are like whoa's customers will be informed 20 times a day on like whoas status.

I mean cmon now, there's more to the adult industry than like whoa, companies come and they go, big fucking deal.

for those of you who chose to host with them with no backups of any kind thats your own damn fualt, i dunno how many times your told to back something up, and if you stuck with them thru all of there recent problems, and didnt switch over when you had the chance thats also your problem. there are plenty of other hosts in this world other than like whoa, not to mention all the companies that have people posting here hooking people up left and right.

i mean got damn, get over it you people cry and bitch worse than a bunch of school girls, and the gossip,, oohhh the gossip, please don't let the shoes be on your feet, you'd be pretty pissed off

so in short

SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY

Come on, in the last 30 days I calcualte 87.3% uptime.

You really think that's a big enough reason to switch? Be fair...

Additionally, if you round it up to the nearest 100, they had 100% uptime.

Your joking right? Where is the punchline?

They have been down since the 4th...Its now the 10th...

Do you run sites? Do you know what 6 days of downtime does to sites?

Go ahead and tell me you were joking...Please

Jon

Have you ever tried staying awake for 87.3% of one month? What makes you think that servers could do it any better than you? Servers are people too...

Jon2 06-08-2003 07:46 PM

My servers have 100% uptime...

I run a website monitoring service...How do you think I am suppose to keep tabs on users sites if my site isn't 100% up? I'm glad I dropped likewhoa last month...

You are smoking something or just really bored...It shows!

My concern is just for their customers, and wishing that they can finally make the backups that they should have made months ago...

MetaMan 06-09-2003 12:57 AM

if u have a half decent host ur uptime should b 100%
or they suck.

:2 cents: Some of us had been trying to make recent back ups from our Like Who(a) hosted servers and couldn't move any large chunks of data off w/o losing connection after 60 sec or so. I was planning on getting the damn thing mooved after this weekend. Now I know it will be moved for sure.

have you tried logging in to your server in the last few minutes?

If you can't get in now, I'd still bet you could within an hour.....

robfantasy 06-09-2003 02:43 AM

what have u been logging into

sexyavs 06-09-2003 04:21 AM

Well obviously we woudl all need to be assigned new ip addresses etc.. so unless you are in their dns you have no shot of coming online.

They would probably do all the inhouse machines first..to assign ips etc..
