I just gotta say, I've never in my life, in any industry, come across a person quite like Marvin. Someone that has such a complete lack of self confidence and skill that he would go out on a tirade over being cut from a job that he couldn't perform. People get fired all the time, every day of the week, somewhere, at some job, in some city. But the ones that get canned due to their own incompetence rarely bitch and cry because they know it was their own doing (or in this case, not doing) that created the situation.
