Okay, this is getting out of hand. Many of the people posting on this board obviously have nothing to do with our industry.

I don't mind off-topic discussion. (In fact, I love it.) Still, adult webmasters etc. talking bullshit is still on-topic for GFY. Random outsiders surfing in a hanging out just doesn't make sense.

How many people here are totally outside the industry? I think there are plenty who are generic board junkies who heard about this board, and never left. Plus, surfers looking for free porn, of course.

Anyone care to "out" any of these fuckwits? I am sure we could all name a few suspects.

I don't mind newbies. Most of you are fun. Hell, I'm still a newbie myself by some standards. Someone in the industry, trying to work things out, is a hell of a lot better than a total outsider coming in and pissing in the well.

I'm pretty deep in the industry (its my main income) but I try to stay away from threads that are too serious. I come here to laugh and vent, not so much for advice. But that's just me...

Wuh? I don't mind allowing outsiders into the industry. Hell, everyone, including me, started on the outside and worked their way in. I just cannot see the point of random people with no connection to our industry postinghere.

Because, it is an open board....

Unless you are going to have everyone showing there bona fides at the door, you will have folks poking their heads in....

Many of those that poke their heads in, if they like what they see, might end up as newbies in the biz.... or may have an idea or a viewpoint or something to add to the mix...

Like me... I post very rarely (mainly because the fucking board moves too damn fast...lol)... So, by gfy standards, I am an outsider... But I have been part of the biz in some capacity since 99... I am not a big paysite owner... I am a programmer and a free site builder...

But even though I am an outsider to GFY, I would like to think that I have something to offer to the conversation...

Even if it is just stirring the pot a bit every now and again.

I don't think it needs to get to the point where people have to *prove* involvement in the industry in order to pose here. I just think its incredibly stupid for people who aren't involved to do so.

As for "outsiders" to GFY, that isn't what I am talking about. Your post count does not determine your right to be here, obviously. Someone who is really in the industry, but posts once a year, has every right to be here that Fletch or Amp does.

I am not involved at all.... aside from dwindling traffic.... with the adult biz.

Some of the threads go outside of strictlythe "adult internet" industry.... So some folks that aren't actually in the industry might have thoughts on various topics etc....

Every industry has it's fans.. and detractors...

If I was a surfer wanting the inside scoop on the way the adult web works, I would definitely be lurking the webmaster boards....

After I had lurked for a while, I might have picked up enough info to make intelligent posts (in which case I would mosey over to Oprano....j/k..lol) and might jump in now and again...
