Here this is what all customers should do when looking for a hosting company.

Email the companies first. sales@host, support@host, admin@host

Check the response times from all three ... Don't expect a 15 minute response time but make sure it is something reasonable.

Then call them. See if they are real and talk to them and find out how professional they sound. See if they have the knowledge to host you.

Then ask for references. Check with thier references. Is thier references reputable people?

This would be where I would start.

After you get all this data match it up to thier prices. Are thier prices reasonable? Can they afford to pay help IE: Tech's, Programmers, Bandwidth Providers with these prices and still make a profit? If the answer is yes to all of them then you need to decide for yourself.

Dreamhost is very good for smaller plans, it's always up and fast. :thumbsup
