Just Made A Pretty Bad Ass Site

I just "finished" this site that I have been working on for the last couple week. Yeah, ok - I know it's a TGP. There some things that make it kind of unique though. Most of the content is in house, there a lot of cool SE stuff going through the back end of it, and I got a some sponsors to offer some exclusive clips just for my site.

I don't like it. If I try putting my Joe Punter googles, at first glance it looks like a page of sponsor links trying to be something else. Were I surfing I'd probably close it without clicking.

What on earth has that got to do with thinking it looks crap?

I hate the idea of using less ads anywhere. I'm here to make money not get the punter off for free. However, the guy ask for opinions. Presuming he wants clicks to get trades going etc my opinion is he's not going to get many.

Dude it's real heavy on the eyes, too many colors and too many links that look scary. The content blows too, no pun intended.

You would do well to spend some time researching other sites and try to imitate the good ones.

As a webmaster I can't figure out what kind of site you have, as free site you will have a hard time getting listed for soooo many reasons.

who cares how it looks? Surfers don't care, they just hone in on the free porn. Look at his link list, it's ugly as fuck. But I bet he doesn't care. He probably cares more about the money he makes because his surfers end up clicking stuff in search of their bearings

I actualy like comic sans ms

Nice clear standout font, expecialy when using contrasting colors mid sentence, really stands out

ok my understanding of the TGP / LINK LIST game is u need bookmarkers to grow traffic...

sometimes ugly design works but with that site he will need to send fresh traffic to it every single day as no one in there right mind would bookmark it.

Thanks for everyones comments. I've taken a few hours away and looked back. Maybe it's a little busy, however - every single thing on that site that you could click will either generate me traffic or make me money.

I think I'm going to do well with it.

GYF is so loaded with negitivity anyway, I pretty much expected a lot of disses from people that have never made anything that ambitious for themselves.

Thanks to being ficked up by almost all of the linklists, the site already pulled 2000 hits in it's first night of business. Now would be a good time to sign up for a trade, if you are interested:
