ok, how do i fix this?
 

can't play avi's and wmv's and stuff... the audio is clear, but the video is all fux0red. all funky colors and pixelated and stuff... must be a codec fucked, but what codecs do i need to reinstall or whatever??

Definitely CODECS or your video card driver. Make sure you have the most current video driver installed, and if you are using WMP 9 you can download the codecs as a separate file from MS and reinstall them.

I had the same thing happen to me. It ended up being my video card. It went bad and I had to replace it. Check your card!

codecs helped... seems to work now. but, after i installed the codec pack, my clipboard broke. but, i think it was already broke, sometimes it would make golive crash.

it's time to reformat, something got fucked. this is a pretty new install, too. sucks, didn't really want to spend the time reformatting already.

Stupid suggestion. I was capturing .avi frames tonight and they looked like shit, I switched my video card from 16 bit to 24 bit color and I captured fine after that. Maybe try that...... :2 cents:

running 32bit color, so that shouldn't be an issue. the video card seems to be working just fine, i think the os just got fucked. i think i'm going to reboot, unfortunately. bleh.

check which codecs you've installed, uninstall all, uninstall WMP, reinstall it and you'll be OK. Of course, you'd always go the right way
