My Dempsey's used to spawn regularly.

Then a couple weeks later he would try to kill her and drive her into hiding.

I'll have to grab some pics one day when the sun is full on the pond. This time of day there's too many shadows and what's in the water doesn't show up well. Plus the dang horny devils have stirred everything up. They were at it most of the day.

I have 18 koi in my lower pond... largest is 24"+ smallest is around 9".

Damn, that is a huge ass fish.
