Designer Hell, this ever happened to you?
 

Ok I am now on my third designer that this is happening with.

All I need is a few banners their protfolio is awesome but my work does not look like something tht matches the stuff in the protfolio. Keep in mind we are very specific of what we want the banner to look like etc.

Anyone else here had this happen?

You can trust exactly 1% of designers. That's why it's so important to really get to know them on message boards like this before paying them in advance.

HOAX is a great designer, never had any problems with him

Had the same problem with sites . Dickman Design is very good. They are willing to work with you as long as it takes to get the job right. And we are very difficult to work with so i give them full marks for sticking with our project.s

Escort man i feel bad for you ith the luck youve been having lately with these people

most of the work people did where with no hassel but then there are the liars that if I would have more time I would get rid of them one by one.

All the companys we have worked with have not asked for payment in advance and we are talking $4000 site designs not $300 ones. See my post above if you want a good company with a great eye for design. Be warned these guys are not cheap, but then who wants cheap looking web sites ?

What sort of approach have you been taking Escort? (if you don't mind me asking) Are you trying to get pro grade work for bottom dollar and it simply isn't panning out or what's the deal?

Not trying to bust your balls here, but you should know the golden rule by now Escort.... you get what you pay for in this world.

If you had hired Sharky, or WebInc, or Supercharged, or Bruno, or any other high end designer, you wouldn't still be chasing your tail with this. You wouldn't hire the Taco Bell Drive Thru kid to tune your car engine simply because he's cheaper than a real mechanic would you? :winkwink:

My advice, go with those who have a reference list to show to you upfront, and has been in business for quite a few years.

Some guys put out multiple threads on multiple boards trying to get the CHEAPEST deal, when you target your designers this way, you set yourself up for failure.

I see it time and time again, people looking for the cheapest deal possible instead of finding a good designer they can work with, are comfortable with, and they trust.

Its like instead of shopping for a designer, they want the designer to come to them.

The honest webmasters are too busy to chase down threads.

Thats what bothers me i9m willing to pay and I pay but I get shit.

This has never happened to me. I only work with people that I know personally and that I can trust. I pay them in advance and they deliver excellent work in a timely fashion.

I have been very happy with the banner work of Webinc.

That's why you should only get your stuff from 50 dollar contests.

I am happy too with their work most of the banners on my new paysite is their work.

But I like using different people, I used 7 different content guys to shoot custom content in the past 45 days.

Yeah, Cindy, they are great designers :) . I know Bruno Dickman for a long time, and the others guys do awesome work too. You just forgot an S, its Dickmans Design.

EscortBizPro, as I told you on ICQ, if you want to be sure you will get the quality you see on a company´s portfolio, ask them if all work is done in house. In house work is usually much more consistent in terms of quality! (plug: we do everything in house) :winkwink:

Fuck it if the banners don't look like the ones in the portfolio. I'd be happy if I could just get my shit delivered on time without the fuckers disappearing on me for weeks at a time.
