So, who is going to read Hillary's book?

Her book 'Living History' is starting to get a lot of talking up over here.

I know that if I could get it for my dad for his b-day if I wanted him never to talk to me again but I think I might give it a go myself. Love her or hate her there is no doubt that she has been a major figure and had a big influence (positive or negative is a matter of opinion) around the world.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...linton_book_39 is a very long url but a bit about the book.

Yup, think I'm putting in my amazon pre-order.

FlyingIguana 06-05-2003 08:55 AM

has she actually done anything?

Sarah_Jayne 06-05-2003 08:59 AM

high powered attorney, senator, author..nope, nothing

cherrylula 06-05-2003 09:00 AM

i'll have to look for it in the used bins real soon hahaha

NetRodent 06-05-2003 09:08 AM

It might be interesting if she actually wrote the book, but she hired people to write it for her. Its nothing more than a money grab.

Sarah_Jayne 06-05-2003 09:15 AM

just about every famous - non writer - that 'writes' a book uses a ghost writer. Memories are still theirs they just make it properly formatted, etc.

Jakke PNG 06-05-2003 09:17 AM

Has she done something money can't buy?

Cassie 06-05-2003 09:17 AM

plan on reading it. should be good if its truely candid.

Not as bad as tha Monica chick, "Oh I sucked the pres, now read my life story book and make me money" What a crock of shit that is.. :ak47:

Mr.Fiction 06-05-2003 09:21 AM

All the haters will read parts of it, no matter what they say on this thread.

Hillary may be the President someday, so it will be required reading for anyone who cares about politics.

Brujah 06-05-2003 09:23 AM

Buy me a copy too, Mr Fiction. :thumbsup

rooster 06-05-2003 09:28 AM

maybe she will explain why she had her college thesis at Wellsley College put under lock and key in 1993

From what I hear most of it's going to be about her experiences in the White House and also with Clinton's affairs and such. The news is plugging it as "SHOCKINGLY REVEALING" lol who knows, it could just be a bunch of hype.

banshman 06-05-2003 09:32 AM

Hillary is a wench. If I thought that even 50% of what is in "her" book was the truth I'd read it in a minute, but anyone with a brain knows it's just a bunch of spin-doctoring crap. Besides an obvious money grab, this book is meant to pre-emptively "answer" many of the questions bound to be raised in any of her future elections.

At least she's giving her 3 writers credit on this book. Her last writer was so pissed at her she leaked out the Eleanor Roosevelt Seance story!

Expect the Hillary-haters to buy most of the books, Hillary-lovers are pretty much illiterate or are romance-novel readers.

This is just the stuff she's done for New York in relation to 911. There's scores of other stuff not related to 911, but it would take up a few pages:

Secured, with Senator Schumer and New York's Congressional delegation, $21.4 billion for New York City's clean up and recovery.

Expedited benefits to the families of fire fighters, police, and other public safety officers who died in the September 11 attacks ; passed legislation creating a 9/11 Heroes Stamp, with proceeds going to families of fallen public safety officers.

Secured $140 million for New York Hospitals and health care providers that responded to and were hurt by the disaster; and millions more for screening and long-term health care for workers and volunteers at Ground Zero

Hosted a Senate field hearing on air quality impacts of the WTC attacks, and pushed the EPA to test and clean indoor air in Lower Manhattan

Worked with FEMA so that $4.5 billion would go toward building a world-class transportation system in Lower Manhattan.; ensured that at least $500 million would be used for small businesses and residents in Lower Manhattan.

Co-sponsored the "Terrorism Risk Insurance Act" which the President signed into law in November 2002.

Worked to pass the" National Construction Safety Team Act" to eliminate bureaucratic barriers to inspection in the event of a disaster.

This is not uncommon...many hi profile people do not have the time to sit and write...so they give interviews to writers...the writers then write about what was said in the interview...then it is proof read by the Author...and changes are made based upon the corrections or further input by the Author.

Hey, maybe Hillary IS the smartest woman in the world! It looks like she may have her romance-novel readers targetted after all:

"... "I could hardly breathe," the AP quotes the dramatic narrative by New York's junior senator. "Gulping for air, I started crying and yelling at him, 'What do you mean? What are you saying? Why did you lie to me?' I was furious and getting more so by the second. He just stood there saying over and over again, 'I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I was trying to protect you and Chelsea.' " ..."

I wonder if her book will be on the fiction or non-fiction shelf?

A lot less people from both parties are driving home from work under Bush than under Bill and Hillary.

Quite frankly, it's more to do with individuals in the country than a single president. Though fruity graphs do make for interesting conversation pieces, people need to start taking fucking responsibility for their own actions, or lack thereof.
I have a job, in Seattle nonetheless, in an economy that rivals that of Yugoslavia. Hmmm, should I thank the president? And lets say I didn't havea job... blaming the president would sure do a lot of good wouldn't it.
Buck up, America.
And Hillary is a waste of space, but I guess that's my fault... it did take a village to raise that hahahaha. I'd rather fund Intl. terrorism than hand money to her.

Fuckin cheers.

Krimsin 06-05-2003 12:46 PM

(Joking about the Intl. terrorism, those fuckers can burn in hell, or where ever they go when they've been bad)

:winkwink:

Sure guy

traffictrader 06-05-2003 12:59 PM

Krimsin, FUCK YOU! How dare you assume that because you have a job, everybody who doesn't isn't trying hard enough. I too live in seattle, and have a job, but I know had truely AWFUL the economy is here. I have friends who have been trying their ass off (sumbiting 10-20 resumees a week, going to every interview they get, which isn't many) and haven't found a job yet. Of the people I know looking for above entry-level work, the average time it takes them to find a job is OVER 6 months, and most of them have to relocate.

so before you get all holier than thou spouting "people need to start taking fucking responsibility for their own actions" realize that a lot of people losing there jobs are losing them because of the economy, NOT personal preformance, and are trying like crazy to get new employment to support their family.

You should consider yourself lucky your area of work isn't underfunded, not blame other people because their's is.

rooster 06-05-2003 01:02 PM

mrfiction, ever hear of the internet boom ?

Mr.Fiction 06-05-2003 01:03 PM

Everyone should take responsibility for their own actions!*

* Does not apply to George W. Bush or anyone related to his administration.

Ouch.. hit a nerve 'eh? Hey, I know damn well what it's like to be unemployed. I've been there, and plenty of my closse friends are there. So before you start repremanding me like you fucking know me, take a second to realize that I was simply making a comment on the graph, and not saying that that accounts for everyone. There are plenty of overqualified people that are without work, I understnad that... but there are also plenty of people that would just as soon blame someone else before taking initiave. That is all.
But thanks, dad... I'll make sure I'm appreciative everyday just a little bit more just for you. Tell mom I said hi.

LeeNoga 06-05-2003 01:07 PM

All during the course of the book as it was being put together it was said the book was going to fall way short of expectations, so why would I think anything different now.....its gonna be a disapointment.
