What applications/scripts do you wish existed, but dont?
Ive got some free time.. have coded a LOT of applications (for windows) as well as scripts.
I need ideas though - what do you guys wish existed for automating your daily activities or saving you time? Some ideas that im considering making apps for TGP Submitters (but theres already so many out there) TGP Link Checker (to check sites on a tgp to see if sites they have listed are cheating) Top referer script (displays top referrers for websites.. is there a demand for this??) what else? |

I need a brain expansion.
A 100GB line directly to my brain will also work :) Now talking serious... Do you know the UdmSearch engine? it would be a good idea to make it faster and make it waste less memory. |
any others?

A script/program that searches a list of expired domains for any Google PR higher than 5 that's cheaper than $200. :Graucho

I need details on how to code this - get all expired domains and search google for each expired domains page rank? |
You could easily write a spider like this in Perl using the LWP modules. I wrote a web spider in college that did something similar to this -- it's not very hard. the LWP api makes it real easy.
See this URL for more info: http://www.linpro.no/lwp/ |
I definitelly can write a script to search for expired domains with perl.. I have done something similar before.
Checking the page ranks for expired domains shouldn't be easy as they probably will not appear in google any more.. |
I can easily get a list of expired domains (expiring by day: today, a week from now, etc), and i can get the page ranks based on keys to search for
but how the hell should this be structured? the app gets all domains, and then what? find page ranks on google for specific terms? |
well, first problem is, in order to get all expired domains, the script will have to run months and months....

A program like StatsRemote but cheaper than $30/month. It can still be a monthly subscription but something more reasonable.
|
I am looking for a script that
Receives emails from a specific address Read the emails and looks for a code which is embedded in the emails Then forwards the email to a new email address based on looking up the correct email address match to the code in a db. I have looked at various autoresponder scripts but couldn't find a suitable one. |

I dont' care about the $30 a month, but for some reason stats remote won't work on my PC. |
If you're really ambitious, go to http://www.otscripts.com and check out the high end triple.
I doubt you could touch it though, OT is da man. |
I don't need it so bad so not too much. But I would pay something for sure.
And I could show you how to make a lot more people want it :) |

interested in something like this :thumbsup |
Look at this thread:
http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=140366 There is an offer of money if you can write a script to do something specific. |
LOL. You all have fun cracking the Google Toolbar. That's the only way you're going to get the PR of any pages.
Let me know when you crack the algo that calculates the ID that's passed to Google when it requests the PR for a page. :1orglaugh |

i simply said you were wrong. whether you believe it or not is your own choice. |
Oh god. I said "Any". I'm sorry. I should have mentioned that PR's of some pages are listed on DMOZ.
Now how is that going to help when writing a script that needs to check the PR of ANY URL? It won't. There you go. |

Like you said, you said "any". It'll help for sites listed in DMOZ. It won't help you check any URL. :glugglug For future reference, check the title under my username :thumbsup |
I'm sorry. :1orglaugh
Edit: In retrospect, when I said "That's the only way you're going to get the PR of any pages.", I meant any as in "get the PR absolutely any pages you want", although I can see how it could be misunderstood. You are forgiven. :winkwink: |
