Whoa that's a nasty rumor, sounds like someone needs to call the leasing agent of the building they are in to find out, that could ruin allot of webmasters if true. I hope for webmasters hosting there it's not so.

Nardimus 06-04-2003 11:23 AM

It is true. I was told by another host attempting to pickup servers there that due to non-payment all their stuff is on lock down and you cant get anything out.

what i dont get is why likewhoa hasnt notified anyone of whats going on.

this is scary stuff, i need to get out of there pronto. :helpme

MediumPimpin 06-04-2003 11:27 AM

If that is true even if you own a server there then the leasing company will not let you get it until it is settled legally, if they locked down the building webmasters will have to wait until its all sorted out, man what a mess if true. Has anyone confirmed this with the leasing company of the building?

I just got this email an hour ago:

Dear Customer-

Please be aware of an emergency support window scheduled on June 3, 2003 from
9AM to 10PM EDT. During this time our support team will upgrade the overall network,
relocate certain hardware, and enable a new provider. You will experience loss
of connectivity which we do not expect to last over 5 hours, during which time
we will relocate your servers to a new facility. Once the network resumes operations
it is possible that some of your web services might be inactive (FTP, E-mail,
DNS); if such occurs please be sure to send an e-mail to [email protected] immediately
so we can look over this issue. Be advised that we expect an unsual volume of
technical support calls, we ask for your patience during this transition period.

We appreciate for your continuous commitment and apologize for this inconvenience.
At the completion of this upgrade Like Whoa will enable a new business outlook
and once again return to the marketplace at full speed. We realize that lately
our support has been affected by corporate issues and concerns, but our long-term
business vision leaves us no choice but to satisfy our customers. Like Whoa has
been a long-time leader in the web hosting marketplace and we are confident about
our future plans. Cannot stop and wouldn't stop.

Sincerely,

Like Whoa Staff

heh,

well I guess this is the right time to ask any effected webmasters to drop by http://www.velocityhosting.com :)

We are not a huge hosting company but we pride ourselves in personal attention and redily available contact if you need us...

we can supply references and are willing to make up custom plans for dedicated servers and co-lo's. tell me what you have now... maybe I can do better.

Also, if you are posting tgp's we have pretty competitive prices... if you are using at least 200 gigs a month, I'll do it at .85
per gig... and better if the traffic is considerable. drop me a message an [email protected] or contact Linda on ICQ# 5612445

Obviously I would like to get business.... but I am really making this offer because I'm sick of this industry jerking each other off so much. I do my best not to think our industry is mostly a bunch of theives, but it is a challenge so times...

well thats about it, I appologize if I had to rant a bit...
