It takes an even bigger man to go on a retaliatory shooting spree at their corporate hq.

I got my last machine from http://dell.com btw. Top notch service, came on time, and got a nice discount on an 18" LCD with what I ordered.

Dell has some really nice machines and totally easy to work with when you need support, parts, etc.

Falcon Northwest looks pretty hot as well as the Alienware boxes

They just dropped the price on the 12".

nevermind 06-04-2003 08:20 AM

Ok, so to build your own or buy from Dell?

That 'tis the question.

I've built my own computers, but Dell is so low priced right now it's actually cheaper to buy from them than assemble the parts and build your own for the same quality.

Any opinions on this question?

Jer 06-04-2003 08:25 AM

My Desktop PC is a Dell, my laptop is a Toshiba. I bought a Dell to my fiancee too, but it was like 18 months ago.

I have had others that I build, but I love Dell so much.... but in Brazil Dell is fucking EXPENSIVE.

Babaganoosh 06-04-2003 08:26 AM

I would hit http://www.newegg.com and pick your parts there. You won't find better prices. All my new shit gets here tomorrow! It's next to impossible to get a new system like the one I just ordered for $900. Sure I will have to put it all together but who cares?

Jer 06-04-2003 08:26 AM

Computers arent even a write off here :(

i bought a laptop from them and they somehow lost my 3 year warranty i paid 200 bux for. it wasn't on their system.

greentea 06-04-2003 08:34 AM

Well at least he is admitting his mistake

gateway SUCKS!!

dell or sony is the only way to go..

Danny_C 06-04-2003 08:46 AM

I build my own pc's, but I have a Dell laptop... and it's great.

Of course, this is the only computer I use. My desktop is only for storage these days.

Every time I start parts shopping, I wind up looking at $1800 - $2500 in parts alone. $900? Either you're looking to upgrade down the line, or I am just overkilling it.
