Can anyone recommend a book that..
 

Can anyone recommend a book that is about heaven and hell, preferably hell.. or Lucifer. Something that isn't just utter fiction, but is based on the bible (which is utter fiction though...).

Doesn't matter what decade/century it's written. The thicker it is the better. The book ought to be DARK in nature.

I want some light summer reading. :)

Sorry, but I already red the bible. It sucked.

Milton's Paradise Lost is a good start. :) It has dry spots, but it's all about Lucifer's fall from Heaven, and how he "makes his hell a Heaven" and seduces Eve and well, you know the rest. :) Lots of detail though, like the demon who was cursed to give birth to a dozen or so hounds every morning, only to have them crawl back up inside her at night. They eat her insides for nourishment. I thought that was worth an honourable mention, at least. :)

I'll go check if my local bookstore has the english version. :)
