request times out .

Your solution is right there

Before it says Request time out. you should see between [] after ns1.yourdns.com the ip! If it cannot be resolved I think it may not exist! Just my :2 cents: !

I tryed those ..
Trying to fire up a mailer ( opt in no need for flames) and it needs my dns server ip and I enter those and the test mail fails ..

If I hit detect , it detects the false IP for my router :P

Are you sure it needs DNS info???

I cant see any logical reason why a proggie would need any DNS server information..

Are you sure you dont instead need SMTP server info?

Is your primary DNS keep coming back with your router address when you click detect or are you putting that in yourself?

You probably dont want to hear this.. but try and run straight through from the modem to your PC then hit "detect"

put one of these are your primary dns:

204.101.251.1
204.101.251.2

the 192.168 address is your inside gateway IP

Yeah .. I am thinking the same thing ..
It will only show as valid when my gateway addy is there , but fails still .. and Ill be damned if I am going to undo my whole network for a few emails .. any good mailer suggestions . I have a feeling this one is just plain garbage

If you are using windows, then click your i-net connection properties --> support --> details
